Skin lesion removal
At Radiance Skin Clinic, we offer two highly effective options for removing benign skin lesions: Cryotherapy using Freeze pen technology, and Plasma Pen therapy. Both are non-surgical, safe, and suitable for a wide range of skin concerns.
What Is Cryotherapy?
Cryotherapy involves using a fine jet of super-cooled nitrous oxide (−89°C) to freeze unwanted skin growths. This destroys the lesion without harming surrounding skin—no needles or cutting required.
What is Plasma Pen?
Plasma Pen delivers a focused electrical arc to gently sublimate the lesion. It's particularly useful for flatter lesions and areas requiring more precision.

Other common benign lesions
We do require a brief confirmation from your GP that the lesion is benign before treatment. This doesn't need to be in writing—we just want to make sure it's safe to proceed.
Skin lesion removals start from £75 per lesion, a discussion prior to treatment will always be necessary and packages are available for numerous removals

What to expect during treatment...
-
Consultation & Assessment: A fully trained practitioner will examine your skin to ensure if cryotherapy or plasma treatment is appropriate.
-
Application: The Freeze Pen delivers a controlled cold spray to the lesion for around 5-15 seconds, depending on its size and depth. Plasma delivers precision cortirization of the skin lesion and can take up to 45mins to remove, depending on size
-
Cell Disruption: The intense cold forms ice crystals within the lesion, breaking down its cellular structure and effectively eliminating it.
-
Healing: You may experience mild redness, swelling, or blistering. The area typically crusts and heals over 1-2 weeks, with complete recovery in 4-6 weeks.

Aftercare and follow up treatment
-
Most lesions heal fully within 2–6 weeks, depending on the method used and the size of the lesion.
-
A second visit may be required to fully remove the lesion, especially if it's larger or deeper—charges may apply.
-
Follow-up reviews are only needed when necessary—not everyone will require one.
-
We’ll provide full aftercare guidance, including SPF advice and what to expect during healing.
